🧬 WHAT IS SPERMATORRHEA?
Spermatorrhea is the involuntary discharge of seminal fluid without sexual arousal or sexual intercourse. This condition can be observed at night (during sleep), during urination or defecation, and unlike nocturnal emissions, it can also occur while awake.
⚠️ What can cause this?
- Inflammation in the prostate and genitourinary system
- Infections
- Problems related to the seminal ducts
- Certain disorders in the functioning of the nervous system
Can hormonal factors also play a role?
Yes. A decrease in testosterone levels, an increase in prolactin, or disorders in thyroid gland function can affect the hormonal balance that regulates the reproductive system, disrupting ejaculation control. For this reason, hormonal tests also play an important role in the diagnostic process.
🩺 When should you see a doctor?
If the condition occurs frequently or if symptoms such as pain, burning, or discomfort during urination are observed, it is important to undergo an examination by a urologist-andrologist.
How is the diagnosis made?
For diagnosis, a doctor's examination and necessary laboratory and instrumental tests are recommended. This usually includes general and hormonal blood tests, tests to detect genitourinary system infections, and, if necessary, instrumental tests to evaluate the condition of the prostate.
❗ Important note
Do not attempt to self-medicate without determining the cause. First an examination, then the correct treatment!
Do not ignore such signs in men's health.
