What is insemination?

Insemination: what is this modern reproductive method?

Insemination (IUI) is one of the modern reproductive methods that helps increase the probability of pregnancy. During the procedure, sperm prepared in a special laboratory is injected directly into the uterine cavity during the ovulation period. This process is considered the method closest to natural fertilization and is less invasive and performed in stages compared to IVF.

📌 When is insemination recommended?

Insemination is not recommended in every case, but only when specific medical indications are present:
  • In cases of unexplained infertility;
  • When sperm parameters are mildly decreased;
  • When a cervical factor is present;

How is insemination performed?

The procedure consists of several stages: first, the day of ovulation is determined using folliculometry and tests, then the man's sperm is cleaned in the laboratory, and the most motile spermatozoa are separated. The prepared sperm is inserted directly into the uterine cavity using a thin catheter. The process itself lasts only 2–5 minutes and is usually painless.

✨ Advantages of insemination

✔️ A method close to the natural fertilization process; ✔️ The procedure lasts only a few minutes; ✔️ Usually painless or with minimal discomfort.

⚠️ Important note!

Insemination is not a suitable method for every patient. Before starting treatment, the reproductive health of both the woman and the man is fully evaluated. Based on the examination results, the doctor will recommend the most effective treatment method for you.

What should be paid attention to after insemination?

After the procedure, it is recommended to take the medications prescribed by the doctor regularly and avoid heavy physical exertion. Usually, after 12–14 days, a blood pregnancy test (hGC) is performed. Do not worry if the result is negative — insemination can be repeated several times, as the probability of success increases in consecutive cycles. 📞 For appointments and if you have questions, please contact us: +998 (78) 555-55-65 ✨ Take the first step towards a child today! 📨 Source: Telegram: @eko_iksi_clinic
